The project was inspired by the solar eclipse. Through this concept we investigate the relation between the light and shadow on the entire body of the fan. Utilize different type of LED light source allows us to control the quality of light. As a result, the overall design is subdivided into luminous and non-luminous parts. Its understate, but distinctive design demonstrates brilliance with the poetic approach.
We want to keep the blade design as minimal as possible without any distraction from the central housing elements. Therefore, the simple angled blade design seems to be the right fit for this type of design.

All Details Considered
Eclipse's upper luminous layer and mesh structure mimic the full exposure of the sunlight, and the mesh structure act as a frame to capture the ephemeral moment. The effective use of inverted design is to divide its parts making the overall piece uncomplicated and genuine.

The Glowing Art In The Dark
Eclipse is simple in style, yet ingenious by design. We explore different forms of light emission in this project, where we challenge the traditional hugger type fan. The concept is to create a fan with the light as a focal point, and by utilising the light in the housing and the lower ring, it transforms the fan into a unique modern chandelier type of fan. We combine different types of materials, allowing the light to emit through and reduce the fan's overall weight. Eclipse captures the essence of light in its poetic but innovative way by applying on to the fan design.
