The simple elegant aesthetic of the Barrel fan was inspired by the minimal circular form expanded out as a sophisticated curved blade. This overall design creates a clear visual language by streamlining both blades and housing to form a clean yet chic ceiling fan.

Exploration of the 'Barrel' design

The fan body itself represents the essential design elements of the entire project. We worked on different forms of cylinder shapes, and as a result, we applied the inviting rounded edge that allows the design to be performed on the blade, creating a unity of form.

Every particulars of design and manufacture is detail-oriented, making the finished product close to the ideal state in both function and form. We have created a dramatic evocation of arc, engaging the viewer in an ever-changing atmosphere of art piece – much like the rhythm of a torque itself. Suspended from a slim downrod, just like the illusion of living art piece.

Exploration of Circular Form

The clients approach our studio and inquire us to create a fan with just two simple parts. This project explores the continuity of the design of the one-piece blades by incorporating it with the shape of housing, where it combines to streamline the design. The cylinder housing showcase the modern interpretation of the design, finishing with the rounded curve design light kits. This design creates a visual language by only utilising two main parts both blades and housing to form a simple yet elegant ceiling fan.
